I'm Casey, I'm 23 years old and work at a photography studio in East London. I live in Dalston but I prefer Shoreditch. I can't read maps, I don't like umbrellas and I can often be found with my hood up indoors. I say amazing more than any other adjective, I think this is quite a positive thing.
Tape Vs MP3

Hardcore is a genre with many sub-genres, you can be melodic hardcore, post-hardcore and it splinters off into scenes like screamo and metal. Bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, The Blood Brothers and Converge brought a new element to what could be called hardcore by introducing touches of extreme metal and mathcore and as much as their contemporaries came close, no one quite matched Massachusetts four-piece Converge.
With the release of Jane Doe in 2001, they found their fans somewhat divided, some claiming that the band signing to indie label big boys Epitaph had caused them to lose their true sound. On the whole though, people had to admit defeat in this argument as Jane Doe is widely considered Converge at their best. 45 minutes of relentless brutality and insane musicianship with vocalist Jacob Bannon’s unique vocals completing an earth shaking wave of noise.
If you’re someone who’s never heard this band and doesn’t know where to start, here is the place. After that it’s pretty much difficult to go wrong as Converge are and continue to be one of the best hardcore bands of the last 20 years.
