The first that most of this country saw of Rocko’s Modern Life was when it replaced Ren And Stimpy on Saturday mornings. Obviously as Ren And Stimpy is brilliant this show was shit in comparison. It tried too hard to be weird and the jokes were pretty few and far between but it was a cartoon and it was on Saturday mornings so it was required viewing. Looking back on it now this show is actually a lot weirder than it first appeared, there was that disgusting frog couple with the wife that kept trying to cheat on her husband with Rocko or anyone else nearby and then that strange turtle with the nervous disposition. Rocko was probably the dullest character in the whole thing, like Tommy in the Rugrats or Doug in Doug. Doug, now that was a terrible show.
