Here in the UK we have quite a few institution personalities, characters that have been around for as long as the eldest can remember and always seem to bring a smile with their presence. One such personality is theatre actor Brian Blessed, a face not known much further than these isles and one who these days makes infrequent television appearances. This ridiculously flamboyant man is one of those people everyone would like to have as a guest at a dinner party, fair enough he’d dominate the whole thing but that’d be half of the fun. His over the top antics have earned him a place in the hearts of the British public unmatched by similar eccentric performers and his 2008 appearance on the consistently brilliant quiz show Have I Got News For You sealed his place as a true legend.
